LITURGY ACTIVITIES

There are different enrichment opportunities at our school for students to get involved in that especially help develop leadership skills.  Some of these opportunities are the following:

Altar Service
Students in Grades 5-8 serve at masses at St. Mary's Parish.

Lectors at Mass
Students do the readings, petitions and other reading parts at Mass.  They are taught how to speak in front of a group and use a microphone as early as grade 1.  

Song Leaders
At each of our two Masses, a small group of students lead the singing.  They practice before Mass and lead the student body in singing the songs; and, at times they do solos.

Organists/Pianists
Students in grades 4-8 play the organ/piano for our weekly school liturgies.  Lessons are offered at school, and students are trained to lead the music for Masses.
