seat of Cuming County. It has become an area trade
center. In addition to the downtown retail area, the

to area residents. Business and industry in the West
Point region are very diverse, ranging from meat

businesses have moved into the industrial tract, and
others have expanded their operations. Cuming County
also has long been recognized both on the national and
state level as a top livestock producing region. The
West Point community takes great pride in its civic
endeavors. Since the late 1970's, many new facilities
have been built such as the John A. Stahl Library, West
Point Municipal Building, St. Joseph's Retirement
Community, Central Catholic Activities Center, and the
Dinklage Medical Clinic. There was great community
spirit in raising the funds for these projects.
